GWPR is a new international network of independent WPR associations.

As an umbrella organisation, GWPR provides an invaluable international forum for networking groups of senior PR women to meet, share contacts, experiences and ideas for their mutual benefit. It is also an important channel for debating and drawing attention to the major issues affecting women working in the global PR industry today.

GWPR is a sector group of the International Communications Consultancy Organisation (ICCO).

Our current goal is to highlight the gender imbalance and pay gap that exists in the PR industry worldwide, alongside finding ways of increasing the representation of women in the boardroom and ensuring equal pay.

At the same time we provide an important networking vehicle for senior PR women to discuss and share business ideas in a non-competitive environment where we can help one another.

Who We Are

GWPR founders Sue Hardwick and Angela Oakes are former Presidents of WPR (Women in PR) - a powerful UK networking association founded in 1962.

Both have distinguished careers in the PR industry and are currently senior level PR consultants. Angela founded and ran a London-based consumer PR agency for 25 years. Sue is a former board director of one of the UK's top PR consultancies and has run her own boutique consultancy for a number of years.
